i'm just wondering if there is one definition, and if not, what is your definition of an "unsung hero"???

A person who does something heroic without acknowledgment or fame in return. It is usually used as a term for soldiers in combat.

An "unsung hero" is someone who does a heroic thing or things and receives no recognition for it, no one sings their praises.

Someone who's done something truly worthy of praise (for me, this means they've given of themselves, maybe even endangered their own life for someone else) but the person (and what they've done, often) have gone unnoticed... Most Moms would qualify.... as would a lot of teachers, firefighters, cops...
