When you start your computer hit F8 a couple of times and a DOS menu will come up. Choose the Start with Command Prompt. When the command prompt comes up, place your windows disk into the CD-ROM drive. Type copy d:\ntldr /c:\

This should work. If it doesn't, get on another PC and download NTLDR from the net. Save it to a disk. Then repeat the procedure. I've had this happen a few times.

Hi
It depends on which OS you are working with . If you have a bootable floppy disk that can get your pc up and running again that is great . NTLDR is a system file needed to start windows . You may have to re-install your OS if you do not have a floppy disk. Depending on your OS here is a site where you can download one .

hope it helps and take care .

Ooh, no longer good, no relaxing. NTLDR stands for NT Loader. It became area of the abode windows NT operating gadget, it really is the first software that runs at the same time as starting up abode windows. because it hasn't replaced, it really is been blanketed in later variations of abode windows with out replacing its call (even Vista). maximum probable this technique grew to grow to be corrupt, or its boot record table did. If it really is the latter, you're in a position to get away with the suggestion to locate a boot disk and get in with the restore console. frequently at the same time as this happens it should be a demonstration that your puzzling rigidity is transforming into corrupted, so pay interest for any extraordinary clicks, surprisingly lengthy search for cases or disk mess ups. in case you spot any of those, end utilizing the computing device and take it to a restore save ASAP and ask them to replica your files over. you may nonetheless opt to take it to a save to have them restore the problem, as fixing it on your own can get very complicated in case you do not understand what you're doing.

Your comp is missing the boot loader for NT ( I assume this is Win XP)
or it is corrupt.
If you have a spare computer, you can download a set of startup disks for XP.
If you have the origianl install CD, just use that and reinstall XP over the first install.
