It's the nature of the animal.

Women are the nurturers and need emotion to provide the help that their children need. Men are the "hunter gatherers" and need a lack of emotion to perform their role in the family.

Granted, it's not so important in today's culture, but long ago humans wouldn't have survived without the balanced roles of mom and dad.

As much as liberals don't want to admit it, we are still simply animals and are mostly controlled by our instincts.

The medical answer to this is hormones--when they change (which happens 2 times every month, it causes women to feel more emotional).

The philosophical answer to this is in order to compliment each other. Case in point: sex. Hear me out on this:)
Men's hormones are pretty much level--they pretty much want to have and/or are ready to have sex with their wives constantly. Even when men are really upset or feel bothered by something, if their wives come on to them, they just seem to forget it and brush it off. Women, on the other hand, have to be in the right "mood." If men try to come onto to their wives when women are feeling upset or hurt, they will make their wives feel even worse--the women will feel like the guy is not being sensitive.
Think about it: if both men and women had constant hormone levels and no moods, all they would do would be sex all day every day. Nothing would ever get done. Other responsibilities would be ignored. The other aspects of the relationship would never be developed. On the flip side, if men were more like women and experienced hormone changes, how often would their moods line up so that both partners would desire sex and physical intimacy at the same time? Then, the sexual side of their relationship would never blossom.
To me, this is one of those little proofs in life pointing towards a greater power that designed everything to help His creatures best develop and thrive. This is just one example of the complimentary nature of man and woman that seems to sing praises to the knowledge and love of the Creator.
Thanks for reading and God bless!

okay, just because some of us women are more cruel than others doesn't give anyone the right to generalize it and say that none of us have a soul... i could turn that around and say "think of the cruelty of some men... your gender has no soul" AND i can back that up with the amount of sh** i've put up with as a victim of abuse by a stepfather AND an exboyfriend... GIVE IT UP ALREADY...

yeah, we're hormonal and emotional.. so what??? if you look back on history, women were brought up as the homemakers and it was drilled into us that women are sensitive and emotional and allow our emotions to shine through..

men on the otherhand, grew up with "big boys don't cry" and "real men don't show emotion," so no one knows what to do when they see a guy cry or show their emotions...

i personally believe that females were created as emotional beings and while some of us allow that biological trait, others do try to supress it and become mean...

or guys.. maybe they're just giving it back to you...

think about it!

It's due to societal pressures. Men are no less wired for emotions than are women; it's just that they're trained and conditioned by society to not express them. Among small children, I've seen both genders openly displaying feelings and thoughts, but as they get older the boys phase them out as so not to appear "unmanly". By the time they're adults, most men have forgotten how to effectively deal with them. As a result, they bottle it all up and deny to themselves any emotions. And what they deny to themselves, they deny to the rest of the world in the process.

Women aren't 'more emotional' than men.... It's very unlikely that they experience a different degree of emotion - or magnitude of emotion. Emotional expression is, however, much more socially sanctioned in women than men ... and women have more hormonal fluctuations. Those to factors combined probably contribute to the social perception of women as 'more emotional'.

females are not more emotional than males it's just that in most cases females are more opt to showing and admitting their emotion. Stigma makes it this way.

HORMONES!!!

Also, society does not shun women for being emotional like it does men. It is more accepted for women to cry than it is for men, even if it's not right.
