Im not sure what you are asking here but if its whether or not you should still be friends with her, you should. I mean if you consider yourself her friend and all.

Sorry to hear that. Nowadays everyone needs to take precautions, anyone could be HIV carrier, they may look like us and everything, but in their bodies they have some major things going on. So always be safe whenever with a partner, and don't do anything unprotected unless you both get tested.
As far as treatment goes there are many advances in therapy. The treatment is down to a single pill in some cases. The medications currently available are able to arrest the spread of HIV through the body, but the cells that are incubating with the virus are still active. So it only kills the virus when its apparent in the cells, so some get away, making the process just a circle.
A newer advancement I read in a medical journal was a research team that has devised a way to destroy all cells containing the HIV virus when the body, even the cells hiding the virus. Killing all the virus in the body. The problem has been tested in only rats so far, but seems to work well. The researchers aren't yet certain whether the treatment will be able to make it past the blood-brain barrier and destroy the virus within the head. I believe they plan on trying human experimental trials around 2011 if I remember correctly.
Once epidemics come up, the more people infected, the faster the solution is found. I think it's only a matter of time before we will discover a cure to AIDS. Just make sure you friend knows what this means and that she needs to take precautions to arrest the spread of possible infection to others. Also if she has been intimate with anyone within the past year or so she needs to tell them so they can be tested as well, because it's very likely she could have spread the virus.
I wish her luck and I hope the information I have provided you found helpful.

So, are you going to stop being friends with this person because he/she is HIV positive? Please, don't!!!! That person need you now more than ever and there are things you'll can learn from each other. Yes, that person life is going to change if it hasn't already but just continue to be there and be supportive of that person. Go to support group if that what it takes. Do whatever need to be to a good friend.... Never change who you are because there is a reason for everything and a reason that you two are best friends.

Your friend will need support right now and will want to be treated "normally". She/he'll know about any precautions to take and will be getting the relevant treatment. Just be there for your friend!
