Frequency refers to how often something is occuring.

In Statistics, you would count the number of occurences. Eg. if you're looking at the favourite fruit of the students in a class, you would have: Apples = 3, Oranges = 4, Strawberry = 11... The numbers would be the frequency for each fruit.

In Physics, the frequency refers to the number of waves passing through a point in a second and is measured in Hertz (Hz) or waves per second. The formula, v = fw, relates the frequency (f) to its velocity (v, m/s) and w (wavelength, m).

depends on what information you are given.

Give us the specifics on the problem you are trying to work out and maybe we can help.
