Take finals. College is different than high school. If you fail, it means nothing other than you wasted your money. You can take it again the grade will be replaced. Until you get a C in the class, you can always retake the class and raise your grade.
Don't blame your grades on things going on in your life. If you're busy, then you need to cut down on your hours and you need to cut down on your activities. There are tutors available for students like you, usually free. One failing grade shouldn't be the reason you give up.

Since the semester isn't over, find out if there is anyway to withdraw from the course. Some schools have something called "late drop" sucn that you can actually get out of a course without it counting towards your GPA. You may get a "withdrawn failing" comment on the transcript, but it won't do anything to the rest of your GPA.
Also, check with the professor about getting an extension and if it would help you. If your story is good and the instructor is willing, you might get more time to complete the class. They might even agree to letting you take it next semester and not give you any grade until then.
As for the rest of your courses - go study and do your best on finals. When you come back, seek out some counseling - maybe just peer counseling or a drop in center and see if you can pinpoint what you need to do. Do you need help getting organized? Are there personal things going on that you need to learn to separate from your school work? Do you need a tutor in certain subjects? Life can seem very dim at times, but remember that things can be as bright as they once were and as bright as you'd hoped they will be.
Best of luck.

I've failed a couple of courses in college. What you need to look at is why you've failed? Was it too hard? Did you not do the work? Some other reason? You can take the class over, I've done this once with completely opposite results (A second time around with a different instructor). Why do you worry how your mom will react unless she is footing the bill? I went on to complete my 2-yera degree and now working on my 4-year. This is not the end of the world, just try again.

One failed grade doesn't decide your fate or future. I recommend trying to take the class in the spring semester to get the failing grade off of your transcript. Most of us have failed at least one class while in college. I know I have...If you take the class over, the failing grade comes off your transcript and doesn't go against your GPA.
As for your mom, sit her down and talk to her. Don't make excuses, and don't lie. She will know. Try to set up a plan for ways for you to ensure getting a good grade in the future. Get a tutor if needed. Set aside extra study time. Meet with the teacher one on one each week or two. This will all help you get a better grade in the future. Remember, you know how you are doing in a class long before the end of the semester. If you see your grades start dropping, do something immediately, don't procrastinate and hope it will all go away, because life doesn't work that way. Good luck.

What u can do is retake those courses in the spring. At least in my school when you retake a course you replace the first grade. Retake the classes and then apply to the nurses program. Trust me not all is lost. By the end of freshman year I probably had a 2.0 GPA (in my school u get kicked out) and now i have a 3.8 AND i will be graduating a year earlier. I had a hard start as well but it can be done. I hope you accused who ever raped you I am very srry you had to go through that. best of luck

There's always hope. Get your sh** together and move on. Be honest with your Mom now and in the future, she can be a source of support and motivation. As for making it up to her (your Mom) I think you should tell her you're sorry this happened, you got caught up and distracted and dropped the ball. Tell her you're willing to pay for the class if you have to retake it. That's something that we as parents, have as a concern. The financial end. And I believe if all parents told their kids (and stuck to it) "look, the first time is on me but anything after that is on you" many more would take it seriously.Let her know how over whelming the year has been. This is very normal for freshman, but it is by no means too late for you.
Listen, don't ever get so down on yourself that you are unable to find a solution. That does absolutely no good for anyone. You're expected to stumple, it's called growing up. I've drilled into my kids to make as many mistakes as you need, just don't make the same one twice. That means you didn't learn anything from it, and that's the purpose of mistakes, to learn. It's ok, and honestly, failing a class doesn't rate that high on the "screw ups" list. So, Buck up Soldier! Pull yourself up by your bootstraps and keep moving forward! lol...good luck Sweety!

u need to just study and if its not for you then move on if i was in your shoes then i would just take up something else because maybe thats just not for you at all. Is it just that you want to do this for your parents what ever it is do what you like don't worry about any one else forget what they think its your life and you are the only one that can run it if you do what they want then you will be looking crazy not enjoying what you do i would be very upset so just follow your heart and do what best and i wish you the best of luck. Have a great life and good at lease you made it to college some didn't think about these things in life you only get one.

Talk to your instructor and a college counselor about your options. If you have a good reason for failing, they might be able to give you some options.
Tell you Mom. Figure out what's going on in your life & fix it. Then get back to focusing on your studies. That's the main reason your in college and should remain the most important thing in your life right now.

Relax, you're normal. Most people in college will fail something sometime. Go ahead and take finals just to see what you know. If you did your best, tell your mom that and she'll understand, especially if you're having as much trouble as it sounds like you are. Please talk to someone you trust about what's stressing you right now. Your emotional health is much more important than one grade. Don't give up. There's always hope.

I am in the same situation as you. But i'm failing three classes. When my parents find out about my grades i am just going to tell them that it was very stressful for me in college because it was a different enviornment then high school. And that i didnt expect all this responsibilites all at once and stuff. Yup, thats what i am going to tell my parents and oh yeah, tell them, "I'll work harder next semesiter i promises"
