On her Majesty's secret service - Diabolical

Mainly because I thought George Lazenby was a dreadful Bond, the plot was predictable and uneventful, just a shocking piece of filmwork.

Die Another Day because it went way too over the top and moved way too far from the character Ian Fleming created.

All of the action was really unrealistic, which is not Bondesque. Bond should run into crazy villians but no laser, earth melting man. The gadgets were ridiculuous considering there are no special gadgets in the books and not even in the first Bond Movie "Dr. No."

In the books, Bond is a sociopath, rough character with an icy personality much like Timothy Dalton or Daniel Craig. Brosnan made the character far too suave in the latter of his Bond career to where he did not resemble James Bond. Also, Bond would never abandon London. He was basically adopted by it as an orphan so he could never hurt it. It's like adopted parents to him.

Oh dear God, I HATED Die Another Day... There was pretty much no plot, and the only exciting scene was the fencing part.. the first part, when he was in Korea was really good, they made it very gritty and the hovercraft scene was wonderfully done. But afterwards, the only important thing was to have as many cool gadgets as possible.. the invisible car was the most horrible gadget ever. It was wayyy over the top. And they just copied Jinx off of Ursula Andress's scene. Even the villains weren't "scary" just... strange, I guess. I felt sorry for them, though.. building that whole ice palace and not making a very good movie. It was very predictable as well that Frost would betray them and that Mr. Ice Prince (can't even recall his name) was actually the General's son. So all in all, the movie was predictable, boring, too high tech and completely stupid...

If you want another opinion though, I loved Casino Royale! The beginning was a little bit incomprehensible, but the casting was great and the acting was great, and it was perfect for his "first" adventure. The only thing I missed was Q. The reviews all said that the funny quotes would be gone, but most of them were wonderful.. the only thing I objected to in this movie was that they didn't do the torture scene right. Everybody in the theater was laughing (including me)... it just didn't seem too painful.. unless you're a boy of course, then you'd know how much it would hurt to have your balls wacked with a knotted rope..

They are all good, but Connery is and always will be the best. Ian Fleming said Connery represented what he thought of when he invented the character. Cubby Broccoli and Harry Saltzman loved him the best. Goldfinger from late 1964 is the best ever Bond film. Connery at his best. Daniel Craig does a wonderful job playing a young, un-polished James Bond. I also like Pierce Brosnan and Roger Moore. Moore had some funny quips.

Die Another Day was really disappointing. However, I'd say that the early 1980s Bond films were even more disappointing, "Never Say Never Again," (technically not official), and "A View to a Kill" specifically. Moore and Connery both seemed tired.

A lot of folks hate Lazenby, but since I haven't seen the film and love Diana Rigg, I can't judge.

I will say though, that the filmic version of "The Avengers" was a real abomination.

The original Casino Royale. Peter Sellers walked out of it.

On Her Majesty's Secret Service is actually ranked as one of the better ones, an opinion to which I agree. However I do see how it might offend some people, particulary if they don't have any earlobes.

This last one may rank with the bad ones. Sounds like they cast
Putin as Bond.

Die Another Day..It was beyond stupid....
Supervillians in ice castles
gadgets and cars that were so futuristic and unbelievable...It was nearly an Austin powers movie....
p.s. Halle Berry's acting was just plan awful....

And since it seems to be a sub-theme here I thought the new Bond & Movie were both Excellent!
1) He looks like a guy whou could actually kick your a** or kill you
2) Its a spy doing spy work, not some gaget driven farce

Moonraker was way over the top, James Bond meets Star Wars.

Octopussy I thought was really bad. Roger Moore only did one or two good Bond movie. Live & Let Die, Moonraker, & The Man With the Golden Gun.

'On Her Majesty's Secret Service'. 1969. Sadly for Diana Rigg...I like her.

This is the only movie I have ever seen in a theater that the audience stood as one and booed and hissed at the movie. It is that bad.
