Just show up at the largest mall and go to the store with the most teens in it and have a large wallet full of bills and you'll be fine..

It depends on what style you like & what type of personality you have. As someone mentioned, I think you need to just take some $ to a big mall in the area & go around to different stores and personally take a look at the clothes. Try bigger department stores such as JC Penney, Macy's, Bon Ton, which I think are all reasonably priced for both men's & women's clothing.
Very preppy stores ($-a bit expensive): Hollister, Abercromie & Fitch, Gap, J Crew, Eddie Bauer
Skater, goth, rock, punk stores ($- average) : Hot Topic, Pacific Sunwear, Journey's
Casual/ stores with variety ($- average to cheap): Department stores

why would you want to wear American Brand names? seriously most of these brands make their clothes in 3rd world countries like "INDIA" employing children and the poor and pay them like 2 cents a day. If thats what u want to wear and support, then go for it .. but just remember wearing brand names is soo not cool these days.. wen i see a guy with a t-shirt on with a huge brand name written across it like 'Armani Xchange' or something .. it just turns me off. I personally prefer guys who wear stylish, well made clothing that looks good on them... A t-shirt with a logo on it doesn't impress sorry.. it takes a bit more than that.

All the guys wear Abercrombie and Fitch and Hollister for pretty much everything. If you want sports stuff (sweatshirts for colleges) go to Steve & Barry's.. go to Macy's for scarves and gloves and coats and Armani for suits, if you have tons of money.

i would say start with something very casual like gap. There clothing is very basic and casual nothing extreme. IF you like casual and comfortable, i would definitely say Gap...Also try Eddie Bauer, its a little more expensive but its more classy and conservative.
