Whenever I open explorer it will only show text content and does not load any graphics. This was after a virus attack that I've destroyed, however I can't get IE back to normal. Can anyone help??

You only need to do a search on here to see how many people are having problems with IE7. The best thing to do is download Mozilla Firefox available from http://www.mozilla.com/ Its faster, more user friendly, easily customizable to suit your need and no problems.

Hello,

Without knowing which virus infection compromised your system and without knowing which version of IE we are talking about, then the advise I can give here is rather limited and more generalised.

**My approach to this problem would be to run a) a different anti virus program over the machine to ensure no futher infections remain on the machine.

**Also you should run any Anti Spyware/AdAware/Malware scanning programs you have.

**Finally, I would remove or uninstall internet explorer (if that's possible?) but does depend upon with version & which version of MS windows too.

If the worst came to pass I would download (if possible) a new version of Internet Explorer and re-install it over the top of the old one (again if possible). If a newer version isnt available try just downloading the same (old) version and again install over the top of the previous one. This should only overwrite old exsisting files and replace any lost or removed files required by the browser. Result should be a smooth working browser plus graphics too.

Windows XP has a function called System Restore, that takes snap shots periodically of the good computer configurations. How to get to it, click on Start, All Programs, Accessories, then System Tools. System Restore is the last item in the list. It has a wizard, and will show you a calendar page of dates, choose the date before the virus messed up your computer. Best of luck.

Sounds like you destroyed a library file or important dll in the process. Try finding your XP cd and typing: "sfc /scannow" in "Start->Run" box.

Download IE7 again, uninstall the old version then re-install the new one. If that doesn't work then post back.
