AZ, USA, we drive around and look at all the decorations people put on their houses, then we come home and make hot chocolate and watch The Polar Express, then we sit around our tree until bed time.

I live in Phoenix, AZ.

1) My neighborhood always puts up lovely light displays, so I take my kids for a walk every evening to look at them. My baby girl is too young to appreciate them, but it's still fun.

2) A few years ago I started making gingerbread houses. I just buy a kit so I only need to decorate them, not bake them. Soon my son will be old enough to help and I think he'll enjoy it. I'll let him nibble a few candies as we go.

3) The family exchanges gifts on Christmas Eve and Santa leaves treats and small toys in the stockings by the fireplace for Christmas morning.

4) One of the grandmas makes Christmas cookies and lets the kids help decorate them. Rice crispy treats are also fun and less work.

5) On Christmas day we have a special breakfast (like sweet rolls) and a fancy dinner in the evening. I make a black forest trifle for dessert.

We live in Southern United States

~Hubby and I get a huge tree (this year's tree ate our living room) This always means looking at the ornaments and reminiscing, and putting on at least one new ornament.
~hang the stockings and enjoy the advent calendars (usually LEGO for us... LOL)
~new pajamas for Christmas Eve, and get into them before dinner.
~make and eat a German meat salad for Christmas Eve (and usually the leftovers Christmas Day). I look forward to this all year.
~We burn a bayberry candle. It is an old tradition, and when I light the candle I think of family members who aren't with us.
