Ignore the website above... it refers to Generator, and Flash 5. These products are approaching 8 or 9 years old. Things have moved on since then. You have three options. Use either:

LoadVars
LoadVariables
the load method of an XML object and create an onData method to catch the text before it gets converted to XML (more complicated, but more robust, as it seems to handle large files much better)
