i am making a shaman as my main right now. I know nothing about them except that they are half melee and half cast. can someone please tell me about them like do they do more damage then a hunter? and what do i spec to do the mot damage? not for a healer shaman. dps shaman. and any other tips that you can give me on shams i would really appreciate it.. thanks

If your trying to do a DPS Shaman, then you should spec down the Elemental Line while you are leveling.

This gives you the most Burst DPS. You will find yourself drinking a lot of water to replenish your mana, but you can produce a lot of damage with your Shocks and Lighting bolts.

Once you have some spare talent points, you can also drop a few into the Enhasment tree to allow you to spec into 2H Weapons. 2H Weapons with WindFury Proc is really amazing for DPS.

Restoration - Healing, previously most wanted shaman for raiding/instance work
Elemental - Casting, highest DPS
Enhancement - Improved melee damage, tank/off-tank work
