compared to europeans ? i love what i do but it seems we live to work ?! how much vacation time do you get??

We also get the least amount of maternity leave, have 1/2 hr. lunches, and practically no vacation time. Why do we do this to ourselves???!!!!

LOL - I get 7 weeks of vacation time off per year, a decent salary, and great benefits.
But in exchange, I work about 65-70 hours per week, including nights and weekends. Plus a few long projects that keep me working up to 50 hours straight at a time. I never take a break and I always work straight through my lunch time. I get up before 5:00 am and arrive at work around 6:00 am. If I'm lucky, I get home by 6:00 pm.

It's even worse in Japan. 7am to 3 the next morning, and then work from 9 the next morning...
It depends on your job, I suppose. I don't get any days off.

But no complaints. I get the money as a result.

yes its trure i have been working all my life and i know one thing the cost of liveing is growing and the pay rate is lowering what a drag and to top it off they will only hire exp. but you need a job to get exp. whats up with that and some jobs want you to go to collage to just flip bergers plz dont get me started i have a big mouth and sometimes it wont shut and when it comes time to get your pay check there so scared to give u it. >=(

I totally agree with you..they want you to work harder and longer hours and not pay you for it
I get 3 weeks of vacation time..not enough if you ask me

I'm lucky in away. I can take off as much time as I want, but I won't get paid, but I'll always have my job...... as long as my boss and I stay in our relationship as lovers! We've been together over 5 years.

yes, sometimes I wish I moved to a more relaxing country, although you would have to get used to living a different lifestyle and unfortunately I need the money and my job at the moment
