I celebrate Christmas because of Jesus's birth. I know that he probably wasn't born on December 25th, but I like to have a day set where it is his birthday. Jesus is the REAL reason for the season. I also like being with family this holiday. God bless!

Yule is the celebration of light in the darkest time of the year. We feast and dance and laugh in the face of death and darkness. We give gifts to celebrate our togetherness and community. We have a festival of lights to celebrate the pending return of the Sun, the conquering of light over darkness. The evergreen, the only plant that could survive the harsh Northern winters, is a symbol of everlasting life.

These things are universal human concepts that don’t belong to any one religion.

I tend to refer to my celebrations as 'Christmas' to not confuse people.

Merry Christmas!

To celebrate the birth of Jesus. That is, after all, the whole reason behind Christmas, although the majority of people seem to have forgotten that.

The gathering and reconciliation of family. Much happens throughout the year, but at Christmas it gives the opportunity to put the past differences behind.
