God knows how they work out the answers. These questions can be interpretted is sooo many ways and no matter what answers people ring in with they are never correct because they want to keep getting money out of all the calls. These kinds of programmes prey on the vulnerable folks in society who can't afford to throw money away but are tricked into believing that the next call with make them loads of money. That's why that guy on the news the other day ended up with thousands on his phone bill. The only winners are the prog. makers. I have never rung one of these numbers and don't intend to.There are forums on the internet where you can read what experiences people have had on these phone-ins.
Have a look at this site

unfortunately for the viewer these questions are near impossible to get right first time. it is down to how they display the questions. e.g 24+36x98+65+x52+59+32x2+87, strictly speaking this is not a correct mathematical formula. in order for it to be right it would need to be separated by brackets, to enable you to work it out correctly. e.g. 24+(36x98)+(65x52)+59+(32x2)+87. So you would have to work out the numbers in the brackets before adding the next part.. The issue with getting it right first time is that the brackets could go in different places and therefore change the end answer. Basically you'd have to work out all the different possibilities and listen for the wrong answers given and eventually you'd be left with the right one.

god knows i sat up once trying to work a sum out and when the answer come it was some obscure amount, and they didn't even tell you how they got to it just went straight to the next, so felt like throwing me TV out the window or ringing up and eventually getting through and shoutin "YOUR PROGRAMME IS ****"

although that would probably put about 40 quid on me phone bill

Nope i dunno but what i do know is that the shows are a massive con.I have known plenty of answers on the shows and stupidly rung up a couple of times, all you get is "sorry you didnt qualify this time"and even if you do they put you on hold and then you are chosen at random....NOT. Also sometimes answers are so easy i wonder why the phones are not ringing costantly?gggggrrrrrrrrr

I've never got it right. Even when I think I've come up with a really smart answer. I think you have to be extremely gifted mathmatically to do it really, which I am not.
