It's not professionally a question for historians, because history is only concerned with humans, but most historians are fairly sensible therefore they believe in evolution -- as do 99% of humanity outside the United States.
Most people who know or believe in God also believe in evolution, they are not in conflcit. God created evolution when God created time.

Well, I'm not an historian, but I believe in evolution, and I believe in God. We, as a human race are the evolved from both creation and evolution. When Cain was evicted from the Garden of Eden, there were already beings living on the Earth, states just that in the Bible. So when Cain took a wife, or mate, we got the best of both.........a conscience, emotion, empathy etc. from Cain, a tailbone, incisor teeth and finger and toe nails from the Neanderthal woman that Cain started the Cro-Magnon population from. Of course that would put the Garden of Eden back farther than 6000 years, as some have dated it, but Neanderthal man roamed Europe and the Middle East 10,000 to 25,000 years ago and then was overtaken by the Cro-Magnon, who suddenly appeared in at the end of that period. Makes sense, doesn't it?

will it's all about what you believe in. i'm historian and i beleive in evolution but my best friend is christian and he believes that GOD did it all..the basic facts are the genes of the cell..and the DNA of the cell.. over time the cell change because of the weather, air, water.. like us. i believe we are from monkeys and over time we started to use shape tools for our work and over time our brains get big ect....
