What do you drive? And why? I walk and take the bus a lot, can't you? No? You would rather carp and moan. You're right, nobody cares. I see 3 trucks or vans for everycar. If you don't like it, don't buy it.
You can always move to somewhere else. But you would cry about that too.
In the 60's I paid $.35 a gallon for gas and I made $240 a month.
Now I pay (YESTERDAY) $2.00 and make over $4000.00 a month. Put that in perspective. Gas is one of the few things that are not inflated in price.

Get it right...In the 60's the average semi skilled wage (eg machinist) was $700 a month ($4 hr) not $250. Gas was .36 a gallon, a ratio of about 2000 : 1 Today's semi skilled get about $3000 a month (17.50 hr), with gas at $3.50. A ratio of 850 : 1

At the present rate of increase of percentage of income spent on gasoline alone... our entire wage will go for gas in what year???

2000 : 1 in the 60's... 850 : 1 in 2006, a spread of about 40 years... YOU do the math.

In 1974 the flow rate of the Alyeska (Alaska) pipeline was 95 %, today it is at 30%, with twice as many producing oil wells on the North Slope... Who is manipulating this? General Mills?

If you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem I have never owned a car that gets under 30 mpg. As I drive on the highway half the vehicles are trucks and SUV Americans are not serious about lessening the use of oil. This might not be you but many people will recognize themselves and are usually the ones bellyaching the most. It is not complicated if we did not use so much gas prices would drop, Its really that simple.

As long as we are dependent on the oil industry, we will be at their mercy.
