Those evil people at apple roped me in with their fancy packaging.
That and convergence technology never do the job as well as having the techologies seperate. I.E. A digital camera, MP3, internet, mobile phone, every time they stick these things together the standard drops in memory size, battery, speed etc.
So I have a phone and an ipod.

For the specific reason that the Cell Phone is my ability to communicate and dedicated to checking my messages, keeping it on for emergencies, and to make sure that I can find where I am going ... and I do NOT want it used for things like music or other activities.
I find that the specific item for the specific purpose is better for me -- like, for example -- I do drive a lot -- so in the car, it is easier if I have a separate MP3 player playing my pre-stored music for the 6 hours I'll be driving than to tie up my cell phone in that manner.
It is the same reasoning on why I use my Digital SLR to take photos (instead of the Cell -- which has a Digital Camera built in). The Digital SLR is documentary (for the type of work that I do), whereas there is no way that the Cell Phone's Camera can ever get the detail or anything else that I would need.

Cell phones hold very little music, I have already filled up my ipod with music and need one of the bigger ones that stores more. A cell phone doesn't have the same features to shuffle and make playlists either.

Dont worry utilising the cellular telephone as an MP3 participant will kill your battery and doubtless Im purely choosy, yet i choose lots greater song then the only million or 2 GB reminiscence taking part in cards can carry, and that they only telephones that i understand of that have a good area for song are 2 Nokia's which fee like $500+ Ipods suck get a real MP3 participant

because for a few reasons...
1) when you play music on your cell phone it drains the battery much faster
2) It costs more money to download music on your phone than it does on your ipod (music + internet use)
3) those cell phones cost more than most phones (notice i say most...mine is probably much more expensive...RAZR)
4) I've heard that those phones don't sound too great.

Few reasons:
Sometime it is better to use diffrent gadgets for the diffrent tasks you need.
Ask yourself the following questions:
1) Is battery life the same?
2) What about Sound Quality?
3) What about Capacity?
4) What about insurance?
5) What do you do if the cellular is broken (no music..).
