Emo is emotive hardcore, branched off from hardcore punk
its mainly music from the 80s
screamo and chaotic/violent emo came from that in the 90s
and theres a few bands today ive heard with that emo sound.

anywho, emo sounds like.. a less violent form of hardcore punk
emo sounded more punk, atleast to me.. and screamo more hardcore
but both had parts of the song where theyd either be really fast, and then get really soft, and theyd scream certain lyrics or speak really softly. and usually when it goes from soft to fast, it builds up first
the lyrics screaming/soft talking too.. and just singing, but i guess the whole point of that was to express the emotions of every part of the song, whereas most mainstream, donest really change the music/way they sing too much in a certain song.

and emo/scremao really didnt have any breakdowns in the songs

its hard to explain it, buts it has an unique sound
its defiently not all about whining, crying over breakups, or dressing emo

that might help

Emo is a relatively NEW TERM.

So if anyone says there is Emo music they are Flat Out Lieing or 13 years old.

I have seen people trying to pass off 10, 15, 20, 35 year old music as New Emo music that they claim sucks.

As it stands Emo are typically Tweens pretending to be Goth, Punk, some mix, or something similar. It is a trend they are expected to fall out of very quickly. Many times I run across Emo and they are pretending to be homosexual or bisexual Tween or early Teens and in reality they are rampent Trolls that in less then an hour will be another ficticious self or Middle Aged Pediophiles looking for children to lure.

If you want something that is trying to be depressing or emotionally drained look into Narvana / Kurt Cobain. People didn't take him seriously when he was expressing his Emotions,.. and he ended up commiting Suicide. He was similar to The Doors,.. which ended in similar tragedy. But Emo in reality / online are not so serious and will not be like they are for long,.. they are just annoying and trying to grab onto a trend for attention today.

Emo (music), a music style previously known as "emotional hardcore" or "emocore"

Emo is a subgenre of hardcore punk music. Since its inception, emo has come to describe several independent variations, linked loosely but with common ancestry. As such, use of the term has been the subject of much debate highly due to the fact that many 'emo' individuals are guilty of self-mutilation.

Emo music is not about the screaming or anything like that. Emo music is from the heart. It's taking your emotions and putting rythym and music to it. It's a very deep and personal matter in my eyes. it's everything you want to say to the person that broke your heart and that you still love but you can't seem to find the right words, so you put it in music and it sounds perfect. That;s how i feel about the matter. I was born emo so i know all about that.

Other than garbage?? It's a bunch of whiny kids who think they are tortured but they are really suburbia kids who don't have any problems, they like to cut themselves with razor blades and have hair that covers their eyes and they wear re tarted clothes and the boys wear makeup .
