Have u just bought the car? Chances are some work has been done on the steering. As long as there are no probs with your steering take it either to your local garage or tyre depot. What they will do is lock the steering wheel in the central position and then align the front wheels..
If you intend keeping the car and it is worth it, have the tracking done on all 4 wheels, I was a guinee pig when it first came out in the UK, I went in for a new tyre and the guy said would you like to be the first to have all four wheels aligned, and for free, only thing was I had to wait for the rep to call.
It ws great, it stops your car crabbing along the road, give it a try.

My question to you is did you have all 8 alignments in the same shop? Centering the steering wheel is purely cosmetic and actually has nothing to do with whether or not the wheels are aligned. Did you have a four wheel alignment or just the front? Have you tried letting the dealer look at it? Sometimes it is a problem that only a dealer can find. Also, if the dealer does not correct the problem they may guarantee the repair. Another thing you may want to do is to take a mechanic or service adviser for a ride to show them the problem. This sort of thing is more often than not the alignment, but you may have a wheel that is slightly bent, or you may have a more serious front end problem, such as bad tie rods, worn bushings, a bad boot, bad c.v. joint, etc.

Sounds like you need your tracking adjusted.
Bear in mind though that cars are often set up so that if you leave go of the steering wheel and let it return to its resting position, the car will actually drift slightly towards the pavement, and away from oncoming traffic. Depending on where you're from, this could be affecting it.

If your front tires aren't worn, sounds like your car needs a front end alignment. This will 'center' the steering wheel and improve how your car tracks down the road.
See link below for a short course on alignment.

No. Get the tracking reset and ask the garage to do it with the steering wheel set in the straight ahead position

It sounds like the wheel alignment/tracking needs to be checked but it is worth checking for any play in the bushes. Even when the tracking is spot on then the car will veer off slightly too one side as no road is perfectly level.

Do you mean when your steering wheel bar is exactly horizontal the wheels arent exsactly straight?
believe it or not this IS normal and purposfuly done.
If you pass out while driving and let go of the wheel the steering wheel will straighten and the wheels will point (very slightly) to the side of the road to save accidents

do you mean the bit in the middle of the stering wheel isnt straight when the weels are pointing directly forward?
If so it could be that the steering rack has been removed and not lined up quite right when it was put back together, it happened on my old car it failed the mot and Dad had the steering rack reconditioned Mum made him do it again so it was straight.
If its not bothering you its not a problem
