Make sure you are using the latest version of the Rhapsody software. Follow the steps below to get the latest update or to make sure you are running the latest version.
1. Launch and log in to Rhapsody
2. Select "Help" from the Rhapsody menu bar
3. Select "Check for Updates"
4. If an update is found, install the latest version of Rhapsody
After you have confirmed or installed the latest versions of firmware and Rhapsody, make sure you have music in your Rhapsody library. If your library is empty add music, otherwise your UPnP device (MP3 player) will not play music.
After you have music in your library, you must activate Rhapsody's UPnP support by following the steps below:
1. Power on your computer, connect to the Internet, and open Rhapsody.
2. From the top of the Rhapsody player, click Tools > Preferences.
3. At the left side of the Preferences window, click Rhapsody Server (UPnP).
4. Check the box for Start UPnP Server once logged in.
5. Click the Start button, then OK.
6. Rhapsody and the device are set up to automatically detect each other. Once they do, look for the device under Compatible Devices.
Note: If the device does not detect any available music, make sure you have the music actually saved in Rhapsody's My Library on your computer. The UPnP device detects only those songs, artists, and albums (including streamed music) that are saved in your Rhapsody library.
Now you are ready to play music.
To play music from Rhapsody using your UPnP device, follow the steps below:
1. Turn on your UPnP device
2. Select the Rhapsody Media Server
3. Select the Artist, Album, Track, Playlist or Radio Station you wish to hear

I get that with mine as well. Your best bet is to download the music first, then plug in your player and put it on there. Some players time out after about two or three minutes of being hooked up (mine does.) If it happens while it's plugged up and you're transferring files, just unplug it, wait about 30 seconds, and plug it back in. That should work for any USB plug-and-play audio player.
