Do you agree that BMW is performance and Mercedes is luxury?

It really depends on which models you are comparing. There would be equal numbers for and against the statement.

I very much agree with that, for a variety of reasons. If you look/sit in the seats in a Mercedes vs. BMW, you can tell that the Benzo has a lot more padding and is a much thicker seat, the BMW is a very thin low profile seat with adequate support and padding. If you look at many of their lower end models you will find that none of them even offer a manual transmission...BMW has automatic as an option... What car hardcore car enthusiast is going to buy an automatic. If you compare motors between the two BMW will edge out MB in most cases.

I own a BMW 325xi and I did not even consider MB, I really think you pay a ton more for just the name, remember that tiny a$$ hatchback piece of $hit they put out a few years ago for like 30 grand...are you kidding me??

I think BMWs handle and drive much better than MB, I would pick a 3 or 5 series over the C and the E class any day, however when you get up to something big and plush the 7 series vs. the S class...my money is going to the S550...that car is SICK!

Depends on the model they both make performance and luxury models.Mercedes is considered to be slightly more up market than BMW.In Europe that is although the merc dealership is poor in comparison with BMW.

Id agree with that. Merc is more comfortable certainly though not that much.
