Is animation related to comics?

Question

I discovered that some people thinks that when a person gets involve in animation, they can also do sequential arts as well. And also for those who do comics, they can do animation well. Is this true?

Yeah, but generally they're not done by the same people.

If you read manga and then watch the anime, you can usually see that they look different because they're drawn by different people.

Let's put it this way. As an animator, the qualities you have is a cinematic view of a particular scene. As this will be shown on the big screen. And if you transfer this ability to comics, you will be looking at a comic almost like a drawing board for a animation. Drawing comics and animation are quite different in a way. For example:
For comics, you have no limit to how you want to create you boxes to draw you pictures in, you may have squares, rectangulars and so forth. Therefore you are not restricted to what you want to fill in, Not in animation. They are all fix squares.

Having a talent in drawing comics may help in animation, but you are limited to the knowledge of drawing body movements.

Being an animator you are more relax in drawing still pictures. With better perspectives of thing.

So are they really related? You can say yes, as they need one basic requirement, knowledge in drawing!

The answer by my new sis fieza the girl, is very similar to my views too.I have had the same experience when I was first using the flash sowtware to do a animation .I am not a comic book artist .But, I traced the comic book story strip of my favourit cartoon and re-did it in flash.It works the same way discribed by my dear friend.I also think the same fort the question.
