Your inclusion of China in your list of "well-developed" countries is mistaken. If you look at the real China and not just the China of the communist propaganda, you will see some serious poverty.

Japan and Korea have developed better than India because the government has been less involved in trying to control the economy. India has had a notoriously large (and corrupt) bureauacracy for more than 40 years. In the last few years this has been pared back significantly, with the result being very strong growth in the economy. To the extent that India continues this trend is the extent to which that growth will continue.

China and Vietnam are hardly "well developed."

With regard to Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, what do those have in common?

They're (1) Democracies, and (2) capitalist.

Thus a major key to improving life in the east is to spread democracy and capitalism.

A lot has to do with government distribution and some has to do with the religion that makes it a sin to eat most animals so people starve in the streets with food all around them. There doesn't seem to be a dignity accorded to the human being in India which in other countries is something strongly agreed upon.
