Yahoo! News article today:

"Comedian Russell Brand has made a hoax call to police during a live stage show.
The 31-year-old rang Kent Police CID about the theft of a statue he had read about in a local paper.
The conversation, during which he gave a false name, is reported to have been piped to a sell-out crowd at Tunbridge Wells' Assembly Hall Theatre by loudspeaker."

How is that funny? I personally think he should be at least fined for wasting police time at a minimum. It's pathetic.

Yes he should be charge for giving false information. As a tax payer I am a little peeved that someone would waste my money on a very dumb prank at the expense of someone doing their job. I also am a child of a cop and I guarantee you that officers have a lot of things to fill their time and don't need to be bothered with stupid pranks.
As for having a sense of humor... what if that call took away from someone who was needing help, a rap, a burglary in progress, a fight, someone stranded on the side of the road being put on hold long enough for the cell phone to die and can no longer call for help. It was a childish prank that if my child ever pulled they would not see the light of day for. If it was an adult that I know I would no longer have anything to do with them. People need to think about the consequences of their actions and understand something as innocent as a prank call could have lost another persons life....

I personally will no longer have anything to do with anyone or anything affiliated with Russell Brand especially any of his sponsors...

Have a GREAT day!

Wow! Are all the Sun readers in today? It was a JOKE people. Not all jokes are funny, and yes, maybe he should be fined but lighten up or I'll get you all a subscription to the Daily Mail.
Russell is funny, so, so funny. We need crazy people in this world to stop us all taking ourselves so seriously.
Also, do you think the police are so dense they don't know a hoax call coming from a live event?!

Andrew Sachs is 78 years of age, and to recieve a phone call to tell him that russel brand slept with his grandaughter, and then to tell him how they had sex, was disgusting and ii is a wonder That Andrew Sachs didn't have a heart attack. This lavatory humour has to stop with Ross ans brand. All Ross can do on his show is to make lewd remarks to his guests, and embarasss them under the pretence of humour. His show is littered with 4 letter words as well. What a breath of fresh air Parkinson was on his chat show. If you have to resort to the type of humour that Ross and brand stoop to, then we don't need them .

The prat is as funny as a tumour. At least his skinny little legs would be easy to snap. Mmmmmmmm! Why don't somebody dress up as a copper and go round to his house and say a close relative has died in a terrible accident. T**T.

Nah, its funny!!! I went to see him and he rang a gay sex line. Unfortunatley no one answered so he left a message. He borrowed a mobile from a member of the audience to ring. Wonder what his phone bill was like!!!

Yes he should. I read that report earlier and my first thought is that he and the police by their non-action are saying that its okay to mess around and waste police time. An example should be made of him to stop others following suit xxx

Where's your sense of humour? The copper was probably polishing his helmet at the time so wasn't busy. He and the rest of the audience probably had a right good laugh. It's not as if he called 999. Lighten up.
