I'd probably call his pediatrician; most have an after-hours number you can call, and whoever you reach is prepared to help even at a late hour. Likely it looks worse than it is, but the doctor may want you to have it checked, especially if he's acting in a way that's unusual for him. If the doctor thinks it's necessary to come in, you may be able to have the ambulance service pick you up, or some cab companies keep an infant carrier in case of need. In any case, i hope he feels better! My little one's fallen off the bed many times, and she seems to be ok with it. Eventually my stepson taught her to climb down, which is safer, but may have been a bad move now that she's walking...

It's important to know what the baby hit when it fell and how? If he fell head first and hit a hard wood floor (particularly if he's a large baby) there maybe some concern. If she rolled over onto carpet or other cushioning, she's probably fine. Yelling when he first hit the floor would be natural, continued crying may indicate some discomfort your should have a doctor examine. If she seems to be lethargic (sleepier or less alert than usual) you should call her pediatrician or ER.

My nephew is only 6 months and he he falls all the time (I think they get used to it) and he will cry for a while then he's fine. As long as he does not go to sleep right after falling he should be OK. If there is any swelling or if you touch a spot and it makes him cry instantly you may want to go see a doctor or if you have any concerns all it's better to be safe than sorry so take any questions you may have to you doctor.

Yes, there is a possibility. When my daughter took a pretty high fall, my doctor told me to make sure she was still moving all her limbs, wasn't looking sleepy when she wasn't supposed to be in bed (I don't mean rubbing her eyes, I mean starting to nod off), and that she still drinks okay. Also check the baby for big bruises that could cause discomfort.

It depends. Regardless, you should get some ice on it and not let baby sleep for a while. If your baby seems like normal, you probably don't have anything to worry about. If your baby is fussy, pupils are dilated, or seems lethargic, go see a doctor.

Just watch for signs of head injury such as vomitting, change in personality, increased sleepyness, change in pupils of their eyes. If the baby shows any of these signs notify your doctor.

Kids are pretty resilant and if you have carpet the babies probably okay. Just observe if she acts different or not. My daughter fell down the stairs at that age and she bounced right back. Usually it just scares them and they need a little comfort.

Of course you should be worried. You should have that baby checked out. It is better to be safe then sorry. My niece did that and had a broken collar bone.

If the child seems ok it should be ok.

But it is always best to be on the safe side & have it checked out by a doctor.
