In today's modern society, many people are beginning to turn away from traditional religions and looking for something a little more unconventional or spiritual. Paganism is one of the options that these people look at.

Technically, a witch is anyone who worships a pagan religion, which could be anything from Greek Mythology, Norse Mythology to Wicca and many other multi-god religions or nature based religions. The most commonly followed pagan religion is Wicca.

There is some dispute as to whether the term witch indicates sex. Some people claim that a witch is a female pagan and that a wizard or warlock is a male. Others say that a witch is a white aligned pagan while a wizard or warlock is a black aligned pagan.

Contrary to popular belief, a witch is not evil. A witch may decide to be white, gray or black aligned, depending upon what type of spells they cast or deities they worship. Paganism is not evil in itself though many traditional religions would have you believe that. Many pagans and witches are white aligned and value good works above all else.

In order to become a witch, you must first decide what religion you would like to follow. Information on various pagan religions can be found on the internet and at your local library. You can also find information on various pagan religions at your local occult store (look in the yellow pages under occult).

Be forewarned, a pagan religion is still a religion! Do not think that joining a pagan religion will suddenly give you the ability to conjure money, make someone fall in love with you or cause bad things to happen to people you don't like. If you want to become a witch for these reasons, then you should just give up now. Many true pagan religions require as much if not more devotion and time as traditional religions. Spells are not mumbo-jumbo done to get what you want. They are prayers and rituals forvarious gods and goddesses.

Once you have decided on a type of paganism, you should find a coven or group to join. Again, your local occult store will have information about witch groups and gatherings in your area. Many times, witches of various religions will gather together simply because of the few number of witches in an area. It is ideal to find at least one other witch who worships the same gods as you do. They can help guide you in your worship and spells. If a witch of like religion can not be found, the fellowship of other witches is still beneficial as some of them will be able to help you with the basics of your chosen path.

At this point, you are technically a witch, though you have many years of learning and exploration ahead of you. As a witch, you should become more socially and politically aware. Paganism is, unfortunately, one of the most persecuted religious forms in the US. As a witch it is your duty to enlighten people, not to frighten or harm them. Just as chistians say "be a good christian", you should "be a good witch". Do not hide what you are, be proud of yourself and your path.

You also need to decide what kind of wizard you want to be.

Well, you may not wear a pointy hat, but there is a wizard
in each of us. According to Chopra's The Way of the Wizard,
"The most good you can do for the world is to become a wizard."
So, that's why this web page is here, and that's why you are here.
This page was created to further the endeavor which was begun on #TheWizardsWay, an Internet Relay Chat room on the SuperChat network. Though the theme of this channel is the Wizard Archetype, it is in truth a location where all spiritual paths may be explored and furthered. This feat of enchantment is fulfilled through the love of the wonderful people who come to #TheWizardsWay and share their hearts with one another.
Among the pages of this web site, you will come to know many of these people. Their spirit may be found within the logs of our most stimulating conversations (that have been archived here). Their hearts may be found behind each poem shared. Their wisdom is the gifts of advice & education they share with you. Whether you know so, or not, you already are walking down your personal path of spiritual growth. May you find here the signposts you need. However, upon leaving here, please remember Merlyn's parting words to the young Arthur.

"I have led you to the secret places of your soul,
now you must find them again,
this time by yourself."

Witch: Practicer of Wicca

Wizard: a wizard was a term fabricated to separate the genders

Warlock: Literally means "oath breaker"

So go with practicing Wicca.

Witchcraft is not devil-worship no matter what anyone says.

Witchcraft has two main power sources: The environment around you, and the energy within you.

So learn a bit about Wicca and have fun, just don't try to harm anyone.

IT'S NOT SATANIC!!!

Okay, I'm good now

If you are Role Playing like DD you need to start your character out and them as they get experience they will gain in level and knowledge, as the levels progress you then can become apprenticed to a wizard and eventually become a wizard yourself. This is how we play.

the reality is the cyber web is a lot less pleasant to that than it became earlier the international huge cyber web. convinced i understand how that sounds yet earlier the cyber web you had web pages like the nicely, application device and Die and Gnosis that you need to get admission to by telnet, ftp gopher and archie the position quite some human beings kept sensible fabric. you also had Usenet with a thoughts extra freewheeling discussions than on the instant (look up the archives for alt.basement.graveyard). quite some engineers were into the occult: the guy who were given our area software began earlier Von Braun ran a collection in California L. Ron Hubbard joined briefly earlier stealing his female friend and probable different issues (the tale is as nasty because it truly is controversial). Into the Eighteen Nineties there turned right into a astounding type of fabric which engineers used which ruled the 'cyber web. Then with the cyber web human beings grew to grow to be fascinated interior the business opportunities and extra esoteric stuff grew to grow to be ruled by further mercenary human beings out to promote the kinds of books George Gurdjieff used to denounce. particularly than argue about what a wizard is or perhaps if or not they exist i am going to direct you to what's left of Gnosis and to 2 poems. The poems, by Classicists, reference the Odyssey and Plato, yet I and so on have got here upon the suggestion they offer very sensible in interpreting esoteric issues. in case you do not realize them you need to provide up now. in case you do, then Gnosis will be sensible for even with route you want to take.

Study some books. You aren't gonna be able to zap people, but you'll be able to use magic to your own ends. lots of different avenues to try. Like...

Enochian
Witchcraft
Voodoo
Goetia
Necromancy
Kabala

Look these up. It has nothing to do with Wicca, you can believe as you please...Although it's not a good idea to fling curses on everybody. A few really deserve it.It can be wiccan, pagan, satanic, demonolatry...A few people are atheist, some are just godless. Others are of the monotheistic religions. You don't have to follow a threefold law. :P But don't be stupid either...

Start by getting your castle. You should also pick up a copy of Disney's 'The Sorcerer's Apprentice'. Watch it over and over, paying particular attention to everything Micky does. After you've done that, write another question and I'll tell you the next step!
