I was wondering if it is possible to ovulate and never see any egg white cervical mucus? Has this happened to anyone? Did you get pregnant when this happened?

Please answer only if you are kind and actually have something intelligent to say. Thank you!

My situation: A couple days ago I had a lot of lower back pain and weird sensations in my lower adomen and then my right side (about where my ovary would be) I felt a tuggy crampy feeling that lasted about 10-15 seconds and never came back. However, my CM has just been really wet but slightly cloudy. Hm, I dunno, my predicted ovulation (I never charted anything) is today, so I am waiting to see if EWCM but I just have that feeling that I already ovulated.

It happened to me a lot. There were cycles when it was plentiful, there were cycles when there was none. It seems like, now though, that I'm over 30 and my tubes are tied, I get a lot of it every cycle now!

Yes, it can definitely happen. Some people never see the EW, and others just have cycles when it doesn't show up. Some people use pre-seed, which is a sperm-friendly lubricant, to compensate during sex for conception. The point of the fertile CM is to sustain and transport the sperm (it may have to live for a few days in your system before the egg is released) so pre-seed can be very helpful in the absence of EWCM.

I never got past "creamy" my last cycle and managed to conceive without pre-seed or anything else. Arousal fluid is helpful too, so try fore-play before intercourse. (Bonus!)

While the EWCM is a great fertility sign that can help indicate when you're fertile (and about to ovulate) it's not necessarily definitive. I've also read that if you've had cervical surgery or cells removed, then it can throw off your CM.

If you want to confirm fertility (the couple of days before ovulation) you can try using ovulation prediction tests. They're very helpful.

Good luck to you!

I have been ttc my second child for 6 months. I have been charting my bbt, so I know that I have been ovulating. However, last month I didn't have any ewcm. I mentioned this to my OB the other day. He assured me that it's not a necessity to get pregnant. My charts are showing that I am ovulating. I have also had monthly u/s because I am on Clomid. Best of luck to you.
