1. North Korea will never bomb China. China controls (for the most part) North Korea. Without China's assistance, North Korea would have totally collapsed years ago.
2. We are obligated by treaty to protect Japan. After WWII, General Of The Army Douglas MacArthur, dictated Japan's constitution to them which forever put limits on the size of their military. They therefore are barely able to defend themselves. We also Have treaty obligations with South Korea, as does the United Nations. The Korean war, which unfortunately we did not finish, was the first United Nations Police action.

First of all, North Korea is not an enemy of China, so they will not attack them. China is their only source of fuel right now. Liberals want this to change, and start bribing North Korea ourselves. Bill Clinton did this and North Korea ignored the agreement and made nuclear weapons. So we paid them to make nukes....smart.
If North Korea attacks Japan this is a huge problem for us. Japan is our ally and a great western country. I don't think they will sit idly by and wait for the new Democrat congress to get tough with NK (it won't happen) so will likely arm themselves soon. Expect a nuclear Japan before long.

The question as stated many times here.. is, well..dumb. however, the hyperbole surrounding North Korea is something that should be getting very old for most Americans, but isn't. .. The gentleman above me sounds like he's talking about the US another gentleman referred to them as thugs and criminals?.. based on what? A foul and corporate Media ? what would make North Korea any different from the dozens of other despot nations that we call allies and work with daily?
America is funny how it "selects" enemies... and many Americans are apparently willing to embrace an imaginary cast of bad guys...
why?

Im trying to see the downside of China getting taken out and destroyed. I really dont see it
We would in turn then be justified in destroying North Korea.
North Korea is gone, all the money we owe China is wiped out.

N. Korea represents a"rogue" country that answers to no one. They can use their weapons of mass destruction towards any country they want because they refuse to participate with any organization of international representative s that keep powerful countries "in check". They are dangerous because they have no agenda except to conquer. They aren't really informed, either, of the implications of nuclear energy as a weapon. Their experimentation can effect parts of the world tens of thousands miles away. Their leader rules as an absolute power, and as such, can impose his lack of morality on his countrymen. I fear N. Korea more than I do Muslim extremists.

Other than the economic devestation, how about the loss of life and the surrender to tyranny.
You know, when Hitler took a slice of Poland, people said the same thing as you just did. And 65 years ago today, the Axis Powers attacked us at Pearl, and we entered the war.
Why embolden tyrants?

Takeout or sushi might get more expensive.
Hondas will become collector's items. Consumer electronics will become more expensive unless Korea, Hong Kong, et al can meet the increased demand.
And where will the martial arts films come from?

Please God, China will NEVER be destroyed (and of course, not by North Korea). As for Japan-I think GW Bullshit needs it as and ally to extract his revenge against people who despise him, like Japan did with Chess champion Bobby Fischer.
