The dent is very small and I'm not really worried about it - but there is a small area where the paint has come away. I want a clear finish spray or paint that I can just use to protect it.

I don't know about getting a clear 'paint' to protect it, but I know that Autoglass have a business called "Autorestore" who can fix minor dents and things, might be worth giving them a call?

You can buy a small bottle of "touch -up paint" for you vehicle that will match the color of your paint perfectly. Cheap and will protect and camo the dent.

If you're "not that worried about it" then why worry about the rust. The only way to make sure it won't rust out is to get the dent fixed PROFESSIONALLY!!

Exactly - just spray it with some clear coat. Get it at your autoparts store (get the best they have).
