Mind-set occurs in people who have not travelled much, and people who do not have good friends to exchange views and receive ideas to open the windows of the mind! Lazy to think, also is a reason for closed mind or mind-set!

The people I find that are most open-minded have usually been exposed to alot of different cultures, experiences, social status, etc. Why is that? Simply because they want to know more about the world and the other people in it. If you don't have that basic curiosity, how can you ever be open-minded?

Because having an open mind, and considering other points of view is work, and it means that they might have to admit that they are wrong. Some people are too lazy to do that, others have too much pride in themselves to admit they were wrong.

some ppl fear that being open minded means that they are agreeing, they do not understand that you could be open minded but still have your own opinions, beliefs and values.
