It simply means the picture is having trouble loading , try clicking on it then press F5(refresh), then if that doesn't work , the link is broken. And if you want to be nice , inform the webmaster , so he/she can fix it. If you ARE the webmaster , double-check your html...sometimes stuff gets deleted in the code , that should be there.

This is an object placeholder and usually means that the object couldn't be found. It isn't necessarily a picture, it could be a flash, active X or Java object too.

Sounds religious to me. I don't think anything is going to happen to you. I don't think you had bad intentions did you? You know, being disrespectful. I went to a different country and I saw a field of stacked stones and people were in the field stacking another pile of stacked stones seeming introspective when they walked out. I tried to find out what it meant but no one knew. I think you may have just happened onto something similar to my experience.

What OS are you running? It differs, like Mac just gives you a ? inside the box. Or are you referring to the little coffee cup? That would be java. Can you explain what the symbol looks like?

That is an image placeholder, it is there when the image is loading. There might be a problem with the link.
