No. You can still get online?
1.Once you get your comp on and running, go to start, then user accounts.
2.Activate the guest account, if anything goes wrong with yours, you can get online and do things with the guest account.
3.Now about the virus, just do a Norton or McAffee Virus scan(whatever type you have). If it freezes on you(try to stop it after five) then just shut down, turn back on and start all over again.
4.Delete viruses, trojans, pups, or whatever an x amount at a time. That way you will at least help the comp think better.
5.Go online - tools - internet options, now clear history, delete cookies, and delete files from your temporary internet folder.
6.If you continue having problems try going back into tools and go into security or privacy, adjust the settings.
7.Or go back to control panel, and remove programs you dont need. Just look to see the last time used of the program, it will show you how important the program is.

No. Use a virus scanner to disinfect the virus. Depending on what kind of virus it is, you may or may not lose data, but either way the virus should be stopped.

Download free virus scan software (good ones like AVG Free). Scan the computer and heal all infected files. Also try AVG Spyware because there may also be spyware.
