Hello, I wrote a children's book and I would like to get it published. Does anyone know how to go about it, or a good website to go to? Thanks!

Two routes. One is a publishing agent, literary agent, the second is directly to a small publisher. The huge publishers like Random House, Scribner and Sons, Penquin, etc. won't look at your book unless a reputable agent presents it to them. To find a small publisher try Writer's Market annual edition. Just be careful, however, there are those who would exploit your dreams and try to make a profit from your dreams of having a book published. Also a children's book needs a designer to draw the story line. Those designers are freelancers and charge a lot of money.

I just finished writing a book as well. I asked a friend who recently had one published and she said go to American Publishing Co. They are online, of course. They are not like those other publishers that want you to lay down money first.

Go to a bookstore and find/order a copy of the latest edition oif The Writer's Market. It's updated yearly. It'll have all the info you need as to the who-what-where of getting published.

You could also self-publish the book. there are a few print-on-demand places online that let you get things set up for free. The one I use is http://www.lulu.com
It is free to set up your book, then you can go out and promote it. If you want to use their distribution services to get into amazon.com and Barnes and Noble online, it only costs a measly $100.
