I forgot the last words:

Considering the historical development of religious philosophy, whose philosophies do you think most advanced Western religious thought?

Perhaps those of Tibetan Buddhism.
I am not sure is "advanced" is the proper word. Technology has little to do with philosophical thought.

Except for things made unbelieveable by scientific discoveries (the Earth having four corners and being flat, mental ilness caused by demons, etc.), philosophic thought is neither 'backward" nor "advanced". This is why people still quote Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Kant, Descartes, Hegel, Heidigger, Sartre).

Actually most western religion is based on the Abramic God-Judaism, Islam, and Christianity. Christianity and Islam are more advanced historically than Judaism only because they've branched off of Judaism. They are all basically the same age as they all have the same root but Islam and Christianity took it further. They are all very young though, when compared to Easterm ideologies which predate Abramic ideas by thousands of years. So there is a lot to consider before finding an answer to your question.

Those who are in awe of what is "outside the box" and then not being afraid of change to answer questions that involve discoveries that may contradict past philosophies. That is what I defign as the most advanced.

So, there really isn't one that is the most advanced when it is written from past experiences. Just a reference for how people may have lived and thought. It's the realizations when evolving in this world that raises questions as to whether a particular religion is working or if people are kicking and screaming for change.
