i have actually been reading alot about this subject as i am trying to become one myself. They make alot of money so long as you are selling mass production and you actually have the resources and the staff to produce it at a steady and effective rate. Its not just about stacking money though because if you want to be the next luella bartley you have to realize that alot of money needs to be saved up and spent if you are wanting to make a profit. You are going to have to keep in mind the expenses for fabric, space to practice your work as well as shipping orders. You may want to start out selling stuff on e-bay. Alot of small designers get their start that way and eventually start selling from their own web sites.

Great fashion designers make bucket loads of cash not only on their couture lines, but also on their department store label brands and then on all the merchandise, sunglasses, perfume, shoes, handbags, etc. that has their name. =^..^=

mostly yes they do makes lots of money, look at gucci and that other ugly crap the celebs wear. makes me want to join the business cuz i can design the ugliest most retarded thing and get rich!!!!
