FDISK is a program/utility used before formatting the drive for partitioning. You may decide during FDISK that whether you want to create one whole partition of available disk space or you may divide it into partitions. You can also set active partition using FDISK. Once you change or delete partition, all data will be lost forever.
Be careful in using fdisk, once you delete partition, you will lose EVERYTHING. You will need to format after creating partition.

fdisk is a tool that is used to create and delete drives/partitions. Using fdisk is not the tool you want to use to remove images from your computer. You should just be able to delete the images off of your computer when you are logged in. Once you remove a drive/partiton using fdisk, it is gone and all data on that drive/partition is gone. I know people who have deleted the c drive and had to reload the system from scratch.

fdisk is to "format" the "disk", if you just want to delete a few files from your pc just delete them. if you want to reinstall the entire system then fdisk it.
