You have major sports teams in Cincinnati and Cleveland. Another professional city would delete fans from those areas.

We would need an indoor stadium. No question about that. Location would be an issue, but one that might be able to be resolved. I don't think the gambling would be an issue. Where gambling is legal, it is regulated sufficiently to prohibit criminal elements. You can even bet local teams now. And it's almost 3 times as far from LA/Anaheim as San Diego. The real drawback is population base. I don't think there are enough people in the area to support 81 home games a year. And Vegas doesn't have a lot of people in the outlying areas. It's a lot of empty desert. Goodman couldn't even get an NBA team in here. So don't hold your breath. And go see the 51's.

Professional sports teams are VERY expensive for a City to support. Usually the owners Practically bleed a city dry, financially, because their argument is that they bring in so much income to the city. Our State is a tourist state and I believe that is what helps support these teams. Columbus is actually larger in pure population that the Tampa Bay area, but I don't think you are a big tourist area, are you?
The owners give with one hand and steal it back with the other.
Tampa Florida is a perfect example.
We have the New York Yankees, but Mr. Steinbrenner gives back to Tampa year round.
Thank you sir!
We have the Lightening Hockey team ( I know very little about the ownership of that team)
Then the TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS are owned by the GLAZIER FAMILY. Who continuously making more and more DEMANDS on the Sports Authority. The Stadium, of course, now a fabulous practice field and training facilities and the last I heard they want and enclosed practice field. It is never ending.
If they were winners, their demands wouldn't taste SO BAD.
I often wonder if what the area earns really offsets what the Glazier Family takes back.

They have an NHL team ( Columbus Bluejackets ) and they are primarially a college town. Also the state of Ohio is not large enough to support 2 NFL, NBA, and MLB teams. which are all located in Cleveland.

It is because the College football market is bigger than the professional sports market in Columbus. It's all about money baby.
