Probably won't hurt but it is easy to make a mild salt solution roughly a tsp of salt in a cup of warm (not hot) water and use that. If you should be silly enough to use your contact solution then don't use it on your eyes later. You could easily spread whatever bacteria is in your nose to your eyes and that would make for a nasty infection.

Uh no. There are additives and preservatives in contact solution. Buy plain saline solution at the pharmacy. It is cheap and made for delicate nasal tissues.

I don't think it would hurt to try. When my newborn got congested the pediatrician just gave me some saline water drops to break up the mucous and that worked great. So if it is just saline then it shouldn't hurt.

I used it and it worked great. It has some sort of lubrication agent in it too.
