I've been watching the reruns of Spin City on FX for about a year now. (I watch the show almost every morning while I get ready.)

However, I always miss whatever episode sends Michael J. Fox away and Charlie Sheen in.

What was the story line? Thanks in advance.

His character took a poloitical bullett. The office had somehow met a guy with mob ties and Micahel said that he unknowingly introduced him to members of the office and the backlash was his fault. He resigned and moved to Washington to become a lobbyist.
At the end scene he is talking about a conservative lobbyist he is having trouble with by the name of Alex P. Keaton

He played Mike Flaherty from Spin City 1996-2000 Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 1991, and disclosed his condition to the public in 1998. As the symptoms of his disease worsened, he retired from full-time acting in 2000 and has since become an outspoken advocate for stem cell research. In 2000, he announced that he would be retiring from the lead role of Spin City due to his illness. (A new lead character was created for Fox's replacement, Charlie Sheen.) hope that helps!

I "believe" he went to DC to become a Lobbyist, and he hired Sheen to take his spot.
