Hi,

I have previously asked a question about the cramps I was experiencing after I'd had this fitted and found out that it had become infected. I have since been on antibiotics and back to work. It's been a week since the antibiotics have run out and I'm still in tremendous amounts of pain. Not just that but I have also been bleeding constantly for 2 weeks. Does anyone know if this is normal? Please help. I'm worried.

Thanks.

Hi, I would not have thought this is normal at all and would get back to your GP now.. don't wait with things like this. I had a Mirena coil and bled the whole time (aprox 4 months) and had to have it removed. I would think that you might be better off with a different type of contraceptive.
Go to your docs today, good luck x

Hi there, this is my 2nd mirena i have in at the minute. (was put in about a month ago while under general anesthetic.. as i have a cervix which near enough every doctor struggles to find)
Anyhoo, last week, i was expericencing bad pains and i couldnt feel the strings. Went to the doctor, when they finally found the cervix they couldnt find the strings.. so was told to go straight to the hospital, where they confirmed strings were not there. Had a xray, which wasnt clear. Had a scan and a internal scan yesterday which showed the mirena is stabbing at my womb lining which has been causing the pain! Ask your doctor for a scan to put your mind at rest

if you had suffered from stomach complaints before you got the coil put in that could be the problem, when i went about getting it i was told i couldnt get it because i had stomach complaints and that i would suffer infections if i got it,you are better going to see your doctor or go to a family planning clinic
