Not only listen, but read it.

Look, here is a president that majored in history at Yale.
However, his track record is less than stellar when it comes to understanding historical significance.

Point one: he had no understanding of the history of Iraq, the Iraq-Iran conflict, middle east politics or geo-political infrastructure.

Point two: his father, the 41st president, wrote a book about why he chose not to continue his fight into Iraq, during the Gulf War.
His son, our current president, did NOT read the book.
Had "W" actually read the book, he would have re-thought his planned invasion.

Point three: the lessons of Vietnam were lost in the rush to invade Iraq. Too few troops, not enough global support and no exit plan were just parts of the failed policy under his leadership.

Point four: those who forget the past are condemned to relive it.

Thank you, President Bush.
I hope you, your wife and two daughters have a very happy and safe holiday...unlike so many of our troops and their families.

He should listen to some of them, but much of the ISG findings are ridiculous:

1. We need to negotiate with Iran and Syria. Huh? We need to plead with 2 dictatorships not to send insurgents into Iraq to keep a Democracy from forming?
Wow, do you think they will listen to reason? Maybe they will bow down and say, "Wow what a novel idea, lets all let our people have human rights and not try to destroy Israel and take over Iraq!"
Ridiculous...

2. This is all about the Palestinian conflict.
One part of the report talks about a "right to return" for the so-called Palestinians. Did you know where the word "Palestinian" comes from? From the Greek "Philistines" who were not at all Arabic. The traditional homeland of the Jews IS Israel, not Arabs.
So far attempts of trading land for peace has led to attacks on Israel. Its time to admit this is a dumb idea.

3. The setting of a date for withdrawal. While many Americans think this is a good idea, it lets the terrorists know when we are leaving and lets them think they are winning.
Have you noticed since the Democrats won that the violence has increased rather than decrease? They see them as weak, and know that they want surrender.
I know many will say, "who cares? lets get out, now!" But you fail to understand that if Iran absorbs Iraq, they will likely eye Saudi Arabia, too. The price of oil/ gasoline will skyrocket, making 3 dollar gasoline seem cheap, and sending us into the next great Depression. You want that?

A few ideas of the ISG report are fine, but some of it is just plain dangerous.

At this point, he really doesn't have any other choice. The voters gave the GOP a cold slap in the face in the November elections. Should Bush choose to ignore there findings, he would just further endanger his parties chances in 08.

Yes, as the leader of this country he has the duty to explore options on serious issues. He should also listen to the American people, Congress, but most importantly, his commanders in Iraq.

of course he will listen however will he do? That's the question. He is meeting with another group today. Not a bi-partisan group and hearing what they have to say. I guess if they all agree then he will follow, however if they don't then he will do what he wants.

He should listen to them and to the generals to see if these recommendations are feasible.

He should listen to them and take their recommendations into consideration, of course. Should he let them dictate policy? No. That is his job.
