I am venezuelan and I dont like president Chavez, so I want to know your opinion about venezuelan people, since he has done so many stupid things -in MY opinion- and I want to know if his big mouth and his well known violent and disrespectfull behaviour have afected your opinion about venezuelan people, or you are aware that he is only ONE man, and us, venezuelans are not like him. (if that's the case, what do you think about us then?)

I see it like this. Venezuelan and the US are in the same situation. They are both generally good people with good intention. Their fault they both have corrupted government. One is a leftie communist the other is a rightie fascist. Both are dumb who do stupid things, they both stole their election twice! Both lost the respect of world leaders. Both are extremist. And both needs to be stop before WW3 starts. So no can really judge all the people in a country because of who is their leader.

PS. Lohan Santana is the man. I wish he played in the Bronx.

Chavez is not Venezuela - just the current president. And that has no bearing on how we should view Venezuelans - who are just like any other people. Given the results of the recent elections, it's clear that Chavez has considerable support. That's a decision Venezuelans made and it should be respected.

The president where I live first arrived at his position under dubious circumstances and is NOT very popular. Many, many people consider him a dunce and a bully. Important members of his own party consider him incompetent. Lastly, in my estimation, he serves the interest of the powerful and rich to the detriment of all other sectors of the nation.

On the whole, I like the Venezuelan people, but they did re-elect President Chavez who is not America's friend, but Castro's. I will have to do more research on your country and the real power system to make a fair judgment on the people. Perhaps they had no choice or the system was heavily weighted in favor of Chavez. Will get back to you later on this. Viva Venezuela!

its ok you have Chavez, we have bush...so i understand what you are feeling...you can"t judge a whole society, by the actions of 1 man.

chavez don't like bush this is the biggest problem...he has been to the states not so long ago and addressed a forum of people, his problem is not the american people, but the american goverment, which is the same for a lot of countries.

so i would have to say no, american people do not think bad of venezuelan people...:)

its all politics...

Americans only hate Chavez. We like all people. (Although Arabs at the moment - are testing our patience!) It is one thing that we are good at in this country - separating leaders and the masses.

Chavez is a loser, scumbag, commie - no one here can stand him.
We feel very sorry for his country. And trust me that the Venezuelans that live here really, REALLY hate him!

I hope that we would all realize that the citizens of a country aren't necessarily like the idiotic politicians who are running their nations. I won't judge you by Chavez if you'll realize that a huge number of Americans aren't like our President Bush.

Look at it this way. If Chávez succeeds in lifting the poor majority into the middle-class, his programs will lose their majority appeal, and the new middle-class majority will vote for more conservative politicians. Your dislike for Chávez aside, you should be proud your democracy functions and Americans should be impressed with the voter turnout among the poor.
