Yahoo beta has a free email search engine.
The search part works well. I used it for a while and switched back. It has more features, looks like microsoft outlook, split into window panes. I quit using it because it is slow when looking back at old emails compared to normal yahoo. If you are willing to deal with that, and need a free searchable email it may be the thing for you. Doesn't hurt to try it, you can switch back to the old yahoo email at any time
If that doesn't work, only other option I know of is to buy something like outlook, possible there is other free stuff out there though, might try a look at CNET they have alot of free and shareware products there.
