Yes, it snowed in the Sahara desert on 18 February 1979.

Yes it has, it gets very cold there at night as there is nothing to really absorb the heat from the sun.

Interesting fact though, in some parts of Europe if the wind is coming from the south east snow will come down red due to the sand from the Sahara blowing north and mixing in the air with the snow. I know that wasn't part of your question, but I think it's amazing that weather works like that.

i think it has snowed ... keeping in mind the the world passed through ice age millions of years ago ... yes i think it has snowed on the sahara desert ... only in the past though not recently
