I posted a q? about male victims of sexual abuse and got 7 answers from women. So am I right yet to assume that recovery from sexual abuse is limited to women?

Yah... No you didn't further my point exactly. Actually I appreciate your answer very much. TY

Public sympathy for male victims of any sort of abuse, especially sexual, is practically nil. Women are always the victims; men are always the aggressors - this is what we are taught, and this is what we believe.

Yes, it's sexist. Yes, it's wrong. Yes, it's morally reprehensible. But the second you suggest any sort of parity for male victims, the harpies and manginas will shout you down.

OK, so this only goes further to prove your point, but . . .

While I don't really care for his way of putting it, I agree with David B. Most men just don't seem to be capable of admitting to anything like this, much less putting it out into the public on here. My own husband has shown all the classic symptoms of it (and comes from the dreaded "all Catholic" background so much in the news today), but even after 20 years of marriage, he simply goes rigid and shuts down completely when the subject comes up. I assume he will never heal. But I love him anyway -- which may be some help, I hope. Sorry for your situation -- I hope you find some way of recuperating from it along the way.

And Serin, while you may be correct in a majority of cases, I can tell you that I work for Family Court -- and the percentage of Protection From Abuse orders given to MEN to protect them from WOMEN is steadily rising. With good cause, I might add!

I'm with Serin on this one.

And yazhmin, if that's true about protection orders issued to men against women being on the rise, that's good news indeed. Not that abuse is ever good, but at least we're starting to acknowledge that it goes both ways.

Well, Doc. This thread is largely the womens' soap-box. We're on their turf. We could rally for a mens' study thread where we could give more answers to woman-on-man abuse. The only advice I can give you at this stage is to remain single and uninvolved.
