The cursor won't 'flash' in the sentence I would like to delete. I can't delete individual segments at all, the ones that I highlite, but I can delete the entire message. I used to be able to cursor, then shift key, then cursor and delete that piece, not anymore. Has this happened to anyone else ??

I'm using Outlook Express, I've tried 3 of the help hints, none worked. I thought I could use the edit email like one of the responses said, but no. I still can't click a cursor into an email body, double clicking only highlites the word or sentance.

Hi there, you may be unable to delete individual segments if you are trying to do that with the original mail. What you need to do is to first hit the forward or reply button. That will bring you a reply template with the original mail below it. Position your cursor at the point you wish to delete in the original mail, hold down the shift key and use arrow keys to highlight all the sections you want delete. When you press the delete key, the selection will be deleted. You can then exit the document at which point Outlook will ask whether you wish to save the changes. If you answer in the affirmative, the original mail will be saved without the deleted portion. Hope this helps you

That depends upon your mail client. Some will allow you to edit a received e-mail (Outlook, for example) but others won't (most web-based clients, for example.) You could always forward it to yourself and edit it then.

Try forwarding the message to yourself. Sometimes that helps things "click". Good Luck!

Try opening the email then 'Edit' then 'Edit Message'.
