not much.. some are for gm only most are 100 % anti freeze but look out some are premixed 50/50.. some new ones are environmentaly safer...lots of dogs and cat are killed by antifreeze left in a pan or puddle after draining.

In my opinion, Nothing. Today's auto products are very compatible and comparable to most standards in the automotive Ind. If you read the labels on a gal. of Quaker vs. Pennzoil, you'll find the very same ingredients as well as store brand. they all have the same cleaning and lubricating agents that make up the coolant. oil is a bit different. I swearer by a synthetic or blend over the old petroleum base oil and was da*m to have it when I busted a hole the size of an orange in my oil pan and drove on it completely dry for 286 miles and the over heated light never came on. That was quakerstate synthetic 30 sae.

Ethylene glycol is the most prevalent ''active ingredient'' in most anti-freezes (check the label). However, nowadays a lot of auto manufacturers are specifying certain brands that contains additives that may not be compatible with other manufacturers system. All this has taken place so that, as you probably guessed already, you can be charged more money. I prefer to use an inexpensive brand that is labeled ''for most cars''.
