The power of happy thoughts shouldn't be underestimated. In an average day it is estimated that we have around 60,000 thoughts.

It is known that happy people think more happy thoughts than unhappy people.

Happy thoughts connect us with the clarity, confidence and courage to act... to know what to do. To travel down our own path rather than the same trail everyone else follows.

Jealous, angry and fearful thoughts take us away from our own path... our own purpose. They strip us of our power and ability to act effectively.

If we think happy thoughts... we create happy perceptions... which lead us to happy events. And so we create a exciting circle (where we become ever happier) as opposed to a vicious circle.

If we think fearful thoughts we become afraid and act defensively. This pushes away other people and other possibilities away from us. And so we become lonelier and more afraid.

The route to a happier life is through happy thoughts. Not just because they make you feel better immediately... but because happier thoughts give you a stronger and more stable foundation to your life. You are in control rather than being bounced around by life.

How to lead a happy life? -
In short STOP LOOKING OUT SIDE AND START LOOKING INSIDE. YES THIS IS NOT SO SIMPLE AS IS SEEMS.
When we looking out side we are collecting a lot of information via our sense organs. When the mind and self come in contact with that information it compares it with the knowledge already stored in the memory, the out come of it is that we grade it as something that we like or do not like. This either makes us HAPPY or UNHAPPY.
When we looking inside we stop collecting information via our sense organs. Then the mind and self come in contact with the knowledge stored in the memory that has been in their from all our past lives, After some time it gets exhausted and gives up the search to grade this information, the out come of it is that we reach a state of tranquillity. This makes us HAPPY, in a sense that is different from that in our daily life.
There is one more practical way! Stop expecting happiness as, as soon as our thought thinks of happiness than that very second we have unconsciously give room for its opposite UNHAPPINESS. This is because Dwaita(duality) starts only when we think about that thing.!!!

I don't think that there is one answer to that. Some of us like being with a lot of other people. Some people like to stay by themselves or with a few friends. Some people thrive on responsibility and trying to change things. Some people do not. At least part of being happy in life is having satisfying work to do.

We have to realize that nothing is under our control. For every action there is reaction. We have to practice to accept the things as they come in our life. It can be a miracle or disaster. and doing the things without expecting the results. When a person start doing things expecting results..and can not get what he expected...he will get a break down.

In Bhagavat Geeta it is said like...

" Karmanye Vaadhi Kaarasthe...Maa phaleshu kadaa chanaa...
Maakarma phala heturbhoo...mathe karmothwa sambhavee.."

just doing is the duty of human being.but should not expect the results. To give the results of ur work...it is the duty of the LORD. who ever it is.

Be honest and respectful in your dealings.
Make the right choices. Certain choices lead to unhappiness; alcohol, drugs, sex outside of marriage, abortions, lying, stealing.
Live with a clear conscience.
Happier people have a spouse and a pet.
Put your trust in the Lord.
Have a purpose in life.
Connect with family and friends.

Realize that happiness is internal, not external.

The stuff you want won't make you happy. The significant other you want won't make you happy. The kid you want, the pet you want, the job you want, etc. won't make you happy.

Don't let your circumstances (financial, job, looks) define you.

Accept your life and those in it. Love wisely and well.

Chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream never hurts, either.

Happy, pleasure, beauty.... are relative terms. If going to a cinema is a happy moment to you, but it may be bore some...I may like to attend some good lecture. Happy should come from with-in, but not superficially. If our heart is pure, our thought is pure and our deeds are fair....we may be happy.
