America is a continent. An American is anyone who lives in the Americas. A United States citizen, well, that's another matter.

Anyway, Mexicans prefer to be Mexican but economic pressures push them north.

Legal immigrants always do in times of legal confrontation. Otherwise, the "majority" hold their heritage and remain Mexican rather than Mexican-American.

yes they do. my mom, aunt, grandmother, ect. came from mexico and they regard themselves as americans

they better. mexico is part of the americas. from northern canada to patagonia, argentina and chile, we are all americans.
